Here are the 10 countries with the lowest divorce rates in the world:
- India
With a divorce rate of just 1%, India has the lowest rate of divorce in the world. There are many reasons for this, but one of the main ones is the fact that divorce is not accepted by most Indian cultures. In India, marriage is seen as a sacred bond, and couples usually stay together for life.
- Japan
Japan has a divorce rate of 2.1%. Like India, divorce is not very accepted in Japanese culture. In Japan, marriage is also seen as a sacred bond, and couples usually stay together for life.
- Philippines
The Philippines has a divorce rate of 2.2%. The Philippines is a predominantly Catholic country, and the Church does not recognize divorce. This means that couples who do get divorced are not able to remarry within the Church.
- China
China has a divorce rate of 2.5%. China does not have a very long history of divorce, as it was not legalized until 2002. Since then, the divorce rate has been slowly rising, but it is still relatively low.
